Vientiane, Luang Prabang

DETAIL ITINERARY:

Day 1 : Arrival Vientiane

Welcome you to Vientiane, Laos. Your flight time will be advised, and our guide with welcome board will wait for you at the airport to pick you up once you land off the city, then take you to the hotel. Check in the room and you will take a rest and free to explore around Vientiane.

Overnight in Vientiane.

Inclusion : Transfer, guide for pick up, and hotel.

 

Day 2 : Vientiane – city tour, then going to Luang Prabang by high speed train.

After breakfast, we explore Vientiane capital by visiting the major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. . En route to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, you will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.

13:50: Transfer to train station (13 km from town centre, takes 25minutes drive)

14:20: Arrive at Train station and process check in (arrive one hour before departure)

15:30: Depart by high speed train to Luang Prabang

18:05: We arrive at Luang Prabang and transfer to hotel

Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 3 : Luang Prabang – visit Khuang Si Waterfall

An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (often in the form of sticky rice) from the faithful residents.

we then enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. We visit to the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts and Arts and Ethnology Centre to learn about Laos’ many ethnic cultures.

You may also wish to drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can splash around in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest paths.  There’s also an opportunity to visit the bear sanctuary nearby, run by Free The Bears Fund Inc.

We then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River.  The tour ends after a visit to the famous Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.

Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 4 : Luang Prabang – Departure

You will enjoy the breakfast at hotel and free until our driver meets you and take you to the airport for the flight back home or to the next destination. You tour finishes with full of memorie, and hope to see you on the next trip!

Inclusion : Breakfast, Air port transfer.

 

COSTS: $US270/person for group from 4 people

Costs are $US NET, 3% surcharge if pay by credit card. Other surcharges might be applied such as National holidays.

 Exclusion: Visa, Insurance, drinks, personal expenses, others not mentioned in details, tips are welcome!

 

NOTES FOR YOUR TRIP:

Tour guide: English speaking guides (on sites)

Closed sites: Some sites might be closed during the time you visit Vietnam (e.g. the HCM mausoleum in Hanoi is closed on Mondays and Fridays). Please consult with your travel agent if you want to have further information concerning this issue.

Car/Van Quality: Using new AC 7 seats cars.

Meals: Vietnam foods. If you have any allergies, special requests or if you are on a special diet please let us know. We will arrange it for you in advance.

What to Bring: Passport, change of clothes, sunglasses and hat, toiletries, sunblock, insect repellent, flashlights, good sport shoes, personal first aid kit and medicines, small VND notes for buying drinks. If you feel the need then sleeping bags and a cable lock for your bags is recommended.
