A great pleasure on our wonderful trip through Vietnam in April 2023

We traveled around Vietnam for 20 days through WeTravel and we are pleasantly surprised by the country.Vietnam is a developing country, and we see a growing group of people who will be better off than their parents. In our experience, the Vietnamese are hard workers and friendly people. Through our guides we learned a lot about Vietnam. 

The quality of the hotels was as expected. We opted for mid-range hotels, and that was exactly what we got.Good beds, central locations, air conditioning in the rooms, and clean sanitary facilities. Breakfast was good in all hotels.

All transfers were well arranged. Always present at the agreed time, excellent drivers, always a bottle of water in the car, and good air conditioning on board. Not all drivers spoke English, but their instructions were clear. 

The guides were very friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to tell us the history of Vietnam and take us to the most beautiful locations.

Apart from a few minor points, we are very satisfied. It is of course a matter of budget, but we do not recommend hotel rooms without windows. In the Sanouva Saigon Hotel we upgraded our room ourselves to a room with a view.

Our guide in Saigon was a nice man, but he made no secret of his personal views. We prefer a guide who tells us facts and keeps his personal and rather divergent views to himself.

We have made a wonderful trip throughout Vietnam from north to south, and are very satisfied with the price and quality of WeTravel. We really appreciated the personal contact we had with Camellia during our trip. Rik's birthday cake on April 10 was an unexpected but much appreciated gift. 

Can it get any better?

Internet: We have a personal internet bundle of 30 Gb per month in Europe. However, we cannot use this bundle in Vietnam. We had read that a 4 Gb bundle was available from Viettel for $4 a week. We tried to purchase this bundle as a tourist at two stores of these chains, but it was not sold to us. Only the much more expensive bundles of 4 Gb per day, for $ 7 per day.

If WeTravel could offer a bundle of 4 Gb per week for, say, $10 as an extra service, we would have taken advantage of it.

Hotel: Most guests do not like a hotel room without a window. In case of hotel rooms without a window, we would choose to pay an upgrade for a room with a view. That makes the trip a bit more expensive, but we wouldn't mind.

We give WeTravel 9 out of 10 points for organizing, executing and guiding our trip through Vietnam.
